Quartzite

Quartzite is a natural stone that has a glassy appearance and looks like marble, but wears more like granite.

Being porous, quartzite requires a sealant and is typically coated in polyurethanes, wax, or acrylic. Spills should be cleaned quickly and as the sealant wears down, it should be replaced (usually once or twice per year).

The most pure quartzite comes in white and grey hues, while other colors indicate the presence of other minerals or substances.

Like granite (which is even more porous), quartzite will require some maintenance, however in exchange for this effort, you will have a rich looking, real stone countertop.

There are always many more styles of quartzite available than shown on this page!
